Father King, RIP

Jesuit Father Thomas M. King, who died June 23 at age 80, was a prolific writer and popular Georgetown University theology professor, but the priest's most famous moment may have come from his blessing of "The Exorcist" set in 1972. The movie was filmed in Washington, D.C.
Father King, remembered for celebrating a popular late-night Mass at the university and for his interest in the Jesuit paleontologist Father Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, helped found University Faculty for Life. As for his brush with Hollywood, he downplayed its importance.
"I think an actor had died previously and other things happened," he once told The Washington Times. "So I gave them a blessing. Took about a minute."
